David Sly – Decanter – July 2021
The gorgeous, seductive nose is so complex – blossom, vegetal, fleshy, mineral, forest – that it’s a challenge to figure out exactly how so many elements to the bouquet are drawn together. Lean white peach forms the core of the palate, while the hint of flint and granite lick at the edges, but a rich, running stream of mid-palate flavour intrigues and draws you back in for another look. 97 points
2019 Lenswood Vineyard Chardonnay | Wine Front, 95 points
Tightly wound, very precise, lemon zest, flint, struck match, light cinnamon spice, faintly creamy but oh so subtle, exceptional length, understatement, a sense of drive and vitality. Smooth mover. No hair out of place. Pedigree gear. Luxury wine. Fancy from the get go. Actually, straight up delicious too and wonderfully seasoned. Superb example of modern Australian chardonnay. A benchmark where lean, racier style manages flavour and deliciousness. Kudos.
